UP’s Scientist Bags $US 100 000 from the African Union Scientific Awards Programme

Professor Pat Eriksson has won the Continental African Union Scientific Award (one of two awarded) comprising a medal and a certificate and $US 100 000 in the 2009 African Union Scientific Awards Programme. He was a candidate in the category of Physical and Earth Sciences. On 31 January 2010, he will be attending an award ceremony during the AU’s Summit Assembly of the Heads of State and Government in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
