Professor Sheryl Hendriks from the Department of Agricultural Economics, Extension and Rural Development is one of only three experts from Africa (the other two are from Ethiopia and Egypt) appointed to the Committee for World Food Security (CFS) High Level Panel of Experts for Food Security and Nutrition (HLPE). She is one of 15 world-class experts selected from over 240 international nominations and recently participated in the inaugural meeting of the Panel in Rome.

University of Pretoria offers training on policing and law in Somalia

The University of Pretoria's Centre for Human Rights held a training course on policing and international law for 12 members of the Somali Police Advisory Committee (PAC), which is supported by the United Nations Development Programme.
