During the past three weeks the hpc has been the safest place in South Africa, being that Satu Mákelá-Nummela, the Olympic gold medalist shoot, and her husband, Matti Nummela, who is also a three time Olympian, had been staying here.

For Tuks the 2010 FNB Varsity Cup Competition ended on a low on Monday night (15 March) as Shaun Davids and his charges were beaten 38-24 by the Ikey Tigers in Cape Town in the last round of the knock-out phase.
Varsity Cup blues will have to wait, as Carlton League starts on 24 March

During the premier swimming event of the Level 3 age group nationals, the 50m freestyle, TuksSwimming member and HPC academy student Nico Meyer was crowned the fastest swimmer at this years event, when he won gold last night (Monday, 15 March).
Breyten Breytenbach visits UP as guest of the Department of Afrikaans

Professor Willie Burger, head of the Department of Afrikaans, was instrumental in bringing the renowned Afrikaans poet and artist, Breyten Breytenback, to the University of Pretoria campus on Friday the 5th of March. Breyten did not deliver a formal lecture, but answered questions and spoke freely on various topics in conversation with prof. Burger. The venue was the Musaion on the main campus.
