The crowning of the Debutante who will take up the role of Miss Tuks RAG Queen sees the final step in a 7-month programme which started with over 80 girls who have now been pared down to the Top 19.

The Tuks RAG Procession is a parade which is one of the biggest annual events in Pretoria. On display will be a parade of floats constructed by Tuks students from residences and day houses, all in aid of charity.

Tuks student, Carlyn Fischer, sponsored by the High Performance Centre’s (hpc) Sport Science and Medical Unit, got her season off to an excellent start when she won the women’s title at the 2012 Cape Town ITU Sprint Triathlon African Cup on Sunday, 19 February.

The brand-new, modern student accommodation that was officially opened by the University of Pretoria at the Onderstepoort Campus on 22 February 2012 will contribute to the University’s plans to significantly expand its Faculty of Veterinary Science. This was according to Prof Cheryl de la Rey, Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of Pretoria and also the keynote speaker at the event.

The Tuks and High Performance Centre (hpc)-sponsored rowers made waves at the 125th annual Buffalo Regatta in East London from 17 to 18 February, where Peter Lambert won both the magnificent trophies at stake – the Buffalo Grand Challenge (for Senior A Coxless Fours) and the Silver Sculls (for Senior A Single Sculls), which was last achieved in 1994.
