Addressing members of the University of Pretoria’s Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology and the South African Academy of Engineering (SAAE) and invited guests on 1 August 2012, Minister Trevor Manuel, Minister in the Presidency for National Planning and Chairperson of the National Planning Commission (NPC), identified some of the challenges that need to be addressed to eliminate poverty and reduce inequality by 2030.

Team SA and TuksRowing’s Men’s Lightweight Four, Matthew Brittain, Lawrence Ndlovu, John Smith and James Thompson won gold at the 2012 London Olympics on Thursday with a winning time of 6:02.84.

Musician and videographer, Deon Meiring and Dr Willem Fourie, ethicist at the Albert Luthuli Centre for Responsible Leadership (ALCRL), embarked on an inspirational train journey during June and July 2012. The project, called Leader5, was hosted by the ALCRL.
