New home for Plant Sciences

The Vice-Chancellor and Principal at the University of Pretoria officially opened a new complex–the Plant Sciences Complex – which houses diverse departments and institutes in the plant science field. The opening of the complex coincided with a launch of the SAFCOL Forestry Chair by the organisation’s acting Chief Executive, Ms Maureen Manyama-Matome.

CGIS introduces new CE at UP courses

The Centre for Geoinformation Science is introducing two new short courses in 2012; Spatial databases with PostGIS and Remote Sensing. These courses will complement the existing GIS courses presented by the centre: Introductory Geographic Information Systems, Advanced Geographic Information Systems, and GIS Standards. The CGIS short courses provide GIS professionals with the necessary theory and a practical experience in the specific topic.
