The quantum and relativity theories of physics are considered to underpin all of science in an absolute sense. Centre for Child Law appeals to Concourt regarding sex offender register

On 6 February 2014, the Centre for Child Law at UP will be representing Childline South Africa, Teddy Bear Clinic for Abused Children and NICRO (National Institute for Crime Prevention and the Reintegration of Offenders) in the Constitutional Court. These NGOs ask the Court to protect children from harm caused by the sex offender register.

The focus of the papers was on heat transfer aspects of heat exchanger equipment that contributes to making concentrating solar power (CSP) systems more effective.

Learners excel in The Hague’s High Schools Moot Court Competition

An “all-star” team of South African learners, coached by the University of Pretoria, excelled in the recent High School International Moot Court Competition in The Hague, Netherlands. The South African team ended in second place overall and one of the team members also won the award for the best defence speaker of the competition. The team members all participated in the third National Schools Moot Court Competition last year.

UP Youth Choir to participate in Olympic Choir Games

The University of Pretoria’s Youth Choir were the winners of the Gauteng Choral Competition in October 2013 with a final mark of 91.7% - twenty percent higher than their closest rival. The choir will represent Gauteng Province at one of the biggest youth musical festivals in Europe, the Summa Cum Laude in Vienna, Austria, in July 2014. They have also been invited to participate in the World Choir Games, the Olympic choir competition in Riga, Latvia, following the competition in Austria.
