- Local cases are those that have been seen by our Outpatients Clinic (pets from the primary service area of the OVAH - suburbs north of the Magaliesburg). Serious patients will be transferred immediately from Outpatients to the clinic concerned, while others may be discharged, and an appointment made at a convenient time for the clinic and the owner.
- Referred cases are only accepted by appointment as arranged by the referring veterinarian with the clinic concerned. Emergency referrals are given priority whenever possible.
Your veterinarian will either make an appointment for you or alternatively, may ask you to phone us and make the appointment once you have been given the referral letter. Your identity document plus the referral letter from your vet must be presented on arrival at the hospital. You will be asked to sign an indemnity form with a provisional cost estimate on admission of your dog/cat. Admissions to the hospital are generally for a minimum of 2-3 days. Prescription diets and/or medication may be brought along as required. Provisional cost estimates as well as expected costs will be discussed with you when the appointment is made.
You will be expected to pay the account in full before your animal is discharged from the OVAH, as the hospital on a ‘strict immediate settlement’ basis, and does not allow for part payments, or accounts. Cash, debit/credit cards, internet transfers or bank deposits are welcome (cheques are not accepted).
