Overview

The Department of Information Science is part of the School of Information Technology (SIT) that also includes the departments of Informatics and Computer Science. SIT is one of three schools in EBIT (the Faculty of Engineering, the Building Environment and Information Technology).

The Department of Information Science offers three main programmes, Information Science, Multimedia and Publishing Studies. In the Information Science programme students also study Knowledge Management. The department also offers postgraduate certificate courses in Competitive Intelligence, and Information and Knowledge Management.
