The fourth bi-lateral workshop of the research cooperation between the University of Pretoria and the Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformatics at the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences in Wrocław, Poland was held at the University of Pretoria from 23 January to 1 February 2012. The title of the cooperation is 'Volunteered geographical information (VGI) for spatial data infrastructures (SDIs) and geoportals'.
This course is presented on 12, 19, 20, 26 March and 2 April 2012 and provides a practical introduction to PostgreSQL with PostGIS, covering the following major themes of spatial databases: installing and configuring PostGIS, viewing PostGIS data in a desktop GIS, spatial SQL queries, spatial joins and spatial indexing.
