Postgraduate – Overview
Vision
Our vision is to make world-class contributions to the field of information systems through our educational and research programmes.
The discipline of informatics
We regard informatics as an interdisciplinary field of study in which information, information systems and the integration thereof with the organization are studied in order to benefit the entire system (individual, organization and society).
The fundamental research question underlying informatics is:
How to reconcile the contribution to the attainment of the information and functional objectives of the organization through the development, implementation and management of information systems and information technology, with the responsibility of ensuring the social and cultural acceptability of these systems.
