IFNuW to be launched in May

The official launch of the Institute for Food, Nutrition and Well-being (IFNuW) will take place on Monday 28 May 2012 at the Graduate Centre and an address will be delivered by Mrs Sheila Sisulu, Deputy Executive Director of the World Food Programme.
The Institute for Food, Nutrition and Well-being has recently been established to provide a platform for the interaction of over 70 UP colleagues associated with one of the UP Institutional Research Themes (Food, Nutrition and Well-being).
To celebrate the launch of the IFNuW, five simultaneous Indabas (meetings on a serious issue) will run from 13:00 to 16:00 on 28 May. Participants will include invited stakeholders from national and local government and international partners. The purpose of the Indabas is to share what UP researchers have learnt from research within the five key thematic areas of the Institute of Food, Nutrition and Well-being, reflecting on its value and our vision of research for the future; and learn from international and local experience of the challenges and successes with regard to these topics. The Indabas will also aim to engage in open dialogue to identify priorities for research in these areas and discuss how to put research to use in policy and practice; and identify partnerships to take these priorities forward.
