Multivariate Statistics (IT-Labs)

Content and Objectives

The course on Multivariate Statistics covers an introduction to regression analysis and factor analysis using the software package SPSS/PASW. We will show how to connect appropriate research questions with these techniques, modeling assumptions and estimations, the testing of assumptions, interpretation of output, and the presentation of findings. At the end of the course, participants will be able a) to test own hypotheses applying regression analysis, b) to understand principles of factor analysis, c) and to interpret output of regression and factor analysis. The course will include lectures, class exercises, homework assignments, and readings.

Prerequisites

It will not be possible to attend this course without prior experience in univariate and bivariate statistics.
