Public Seminar: The Association of Southeast Asian Nations and Indonesia

The Department of Political Sciences, in association with the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, invites you to a public seminar on "ASEAN Connectivity and ASEAN and the role of Indonesia", to be addressed by Dr Siswo Pramono and Ambassador Ibrahim Yusuf, on 27 September 2011.

Dr Pramono is the Director of the Centre of Policy Analysis and Development for the Asia Pacific and Africa Regions, Policy Analysis and Development Agency, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia. Ambassador Yusuf is Indonesia’s former ambassador to Thailand.

The purpose of this seminar is to promote knowledge and understanding of Indonesia’s role in ASEAN, as well as of ASEAN as a regional organisation of increasing importance to South Africa, the SADC region and the rest of the African continent, and to build networks between South African and Indonesian scholars and researchers.
