Invitation: Model United Nations DebateBy Shirley de VilliersPosted on 16 May 2012  The Department of Political Sciences at the University of Pretoria cordially invites you to its annual Model United Nations Debate on Wednesday, 23 May 2012. The theme of this year’s debate is: “The UN Security Council considers a growing humanitarian crisis in South Sudan”. The debate – which this year will be a simulation of the United Nations Security Council – forms an integral part of our second year International Relations curriculum,and counts towards formal assessment of the students. The actual 15 member states of the UNSC during 2012 will be “represented” by our students.
