TuksCricket Ladies Team

There are some ladies that congregate to play the “gentlemen’s game”, but they have never disappointed in being “ladies”.

Since the 1996/1997 season, the team has won the Northerns women’s premier league 10 times. The club has had 7 international cricket players: Linda Olivier, Cindy Eksteen, Lonell de Beer, Yulandi van der Merwe, Charlize van der Westhuizen, Mignon du Preez (current Protea ladies captain), and Melissa Smook. The 2012/13 squad is captained by Jene Viljoen, a former Northerns and Natal provincial player.

The TuksCricket Ladies have a hunger to learn and improve their cricket skills. The greatest joy is when the “light comes on” and their confidence increases, and this shows in their eyes and skill in the matches.

An environment that exists is one of support for each other, especially to those who are new to the game, hard work and pride to represent the University of Pretoria.

Come and join us for a growth in cricket skills and with the TuksCricket Ladies team family.
