JUNIORTUKKIE CLUB

The JuniorTukkie Club is an initiative of the Client Service Centre of the University of Pretoria and strive to identify learners who excel academically, culturally and on the sports field as well as learners who show exceptional leadership capabilities. We advise learners and assist them in making informed and responsible study and career choices. For more information on the JuniorTukkie Club and its projects, vist www.up.ac.za/juniortukkie.

Membership requirements

Learners in Grades 10, 11 and 12 may apply for membership to the JuniorTukkie Club if the required minimum Admission Point Score (APS) of 36 is acquired. Please apply online at www.up.ac.za/juniortukkie, click on “JuniorTukkie online registration” and follow the instructions. Should your APS be lower than the required 36, your online application for JuniorTukkie membership will not be accepted. You are welcome to apply again once you meet the requirements. Please note that Life Orientation is not taken into consideration in the calculation of the APS.

The calculation of the APS is only applicable to learners who write the National Senior Certificate (NSC) and the Independent Examination Board (IEB) examinations. Non-South African citizens should contact the JuniorTukkie Office at juniortukkie@up.ac.za or 012 420 6486/6606.

Membership of the JuniorTukkie Club DOES NOT guarantee admission to any study programme at the University of Pretoria.

The University reserves the right to confirm your results with your school. Dishonesty will result in the cancellation of your membership of the JuniorTukkie Club.

Membership confirmation

JuniorTukkie members who still comply to the required APS of 36, should confirm their membership to the JuniorTukkie Club annually. The following is required to confirm your membership:

-  Fax your final end-examination report to 086 518 5494, for attention Ms Mariana Laubscher.

   Please note that we do not require first, second or third term reports.

-  Your fax should be accompanied with a cover sheet confirming the following information:

~ your JuniorTukkie membership number (eg JT12345678)

 ~ your name and surname

~ your cell number, or your parent/guardian’s contact number

 ~ your email address, or your parent/guardian’s email address

 ~ your postal address
