How to Apply?
Prospective students
Prospective students must first apply for admission to the University. An application for study financing may be submitted only after a student number has been allocated. Visit the UP Portal (then click on study finance applicaiton).
Students previously registered
Students previously registered at other universities must submit a complete academic record at the faculty. An application on which there is outstanding documentation or information will not be processed.
Students with bursaries
All students studying with bursaries should submit written proof of the bursary awarded. The document must indicate the specific amount awarded, and it must be submitted before registration at the Client Service Centre (Student Accounts Department).
Sport bursaries
Sport bursaries is available to sports achievers who at least obtained provincial colours in specific sports. Closing date: 30 September of the year preceding commencement of study.

Application for Study Finance – Historic Debt
NSFAS loans are available to all students who completed their degrees, passed all the requirements for graduation but who did not receive their qualification certificate in the years 2000 to 2010, due to outstanding debt with the university.
