BCom Four-year Programme
This is the ideal degree for students who are interested in studying towards BCom degrees in management or financial sciences. Students must apply during October of their first year to transfer to the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences (Hatfield Campus). Placement in BCom Accounting Sciences and BCom Investment Management cannot be guaranteed as these are selection programmes where numbers are limited.

Admission Requirements:
• National Senior Certificate (NSC) with admission to degree studies
• An Admission Points Score (APS) of at least 26
• Mathematics: level 3
• Two languages, of which one has to be English or Afrikaans: level 4
• Life Orientation: level 4 (excluded when calculating the APS)
• Institutional Proficiency test (National Benchmark Test - NBT)
All prospective students must write the NBT. Students are advised to write the test between July and October. Please visit our website for information on registration procedures for the NBT at: www.nbt.ac.za
There is a limited number of places.
The Four-year Programmes’ placement is based on the final Grade 12 results combined with the NBT results.
Accommodation and bursaries
Students may apply for residence accommodation or find their own private accommodation close to the Mamelodi Campus of the University of Pretoria. Note that there is a high demand for residence accommodation and you will probably be placed on a long waiting list. There is accommodation close to the Mamelodi Campus in the Tuks Naledi Residence situated in the Savannah Estate next to the N4 highway.
Financial assistance ranging from full scholarships to partial bursaries is available for the first year of study (2 semesters). The awarding of bursaries and the amount depends on the financial status of the family of the student.
How and when do I apply?
Prospective students are advised to apply as soon as possible at the Client Service Centre at the University of Pretoria. The closing date for applications is 30 November.
