Centre for Wildlife Management

Welcome to the Centre for Wildlife Management

The Centre for Wildlife Management continues to function as an integral unit of the Department of Animal and Wildlife Science with the Eugène Marais Chair of Wildlife Management as pivot.

The University of Pretoria has been training graduates in Wildlife Management since 1965. To date more than 550 postgraduate degrees have been awarded in Wildlife Management, at the BSc (Hons), MSc and PhD levels.

A web-based MPhil degree is offered for persons with four-year curriculum university degree in any field of expertise.

Many leaders in the field of wildlife conservation and management have qualified from this Centre. Students with a science degree in biology, agriculture or veterinary sciences from any university in South Africa and universities from all over the world can enrol for the degrees at this Centre.

Senior Government Mediation Training Workshop planned for July - 15/05/2012
The Centre for Mediation in Africa will convene its second Senior Government Mediation Training Workshop at the University of Pretoria from 10 to 13 July 2012. The workshop is aimed at government officials at the level of ambassador and first political secretary. The bulk of the participants will be from African countries.
