Function of different management structures
 

Director

• Provides strong leadership.
• Performs day to day management.
• Markets the Centre and mobilizes funding.
• Provides strategic direction for the Centre.
• Develops the business plan for the Centre.
• Manages the funds of the Centre. 

Management committee

• Approves the strategic plan.
• Approves the business plan for the Centre.
• Approves the budget.
• Reviews progress with research undertaken by the Centre
• Reviews and recommends proposals for new projects on an ad hoc basis.
• The management committee meets bi-annually. 

Advisory board

• Evaluates and provides inputs to the strategic and business plans of the Centre.
• Comments on budget proposals for approval or amendment.
• Provides inputs of a strategic nature as regards the direction of the Centre.
• The Advisory board meets at least annually.
