      Research interests:

  • Biomass burning and emissions modeling research by use of remote sensing techniques:
    • Analysis of global Biomass Burning Emission Inventories
    • Modeling net carbon fluxes in the troposphere
    • Burned area detection
    • Burn-severity assessment
    • Validation of remotely-sensed thematic data-sets

      Invitation to conferences/workshops:

  • Gave an oral presentation at the 2010 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium in Hawaii/USA on "Validation of the MODIS Burned-area products across different biomes in South Africa".   
  • Participated in the 2011 SANSA-COSPAR training workshop on Advanced Land-Surface Characterisation in Cape Town
