The Joint Colloquium is organised by the Institute of Tropical Medicine’s (ITM) Strategic Network on Neglected Diseases and Zoonsoses and the Department of Veterinary Tropical Diseases (DVTD), University of Pretoria (UP).

Sponsors

The Belgian Directorate-General for Development Cooperation (DGDC) is the federal agency in charge of development aid. The collaboration between DGDC and the ITM has produced innumerable projects, scholarships and contracts over the years.

Since 1998, these activities have been incorporated into a broad Framework Agreement. Under this Agreement, DGDC provides financial support for a comprehensive range of ITM activities. The Framework Agreement is a multiyear agreement under which the ITM takes responsibility for a comprehensive programme that includes medical, veterinary and scientific training, and research and capacity building, in exchange for DGDC subsidies.

The European Commission is an official sponsor of the Joint Colloquium.
