The Department of Plant Science has a long and proud tradition and is well known for its research expertise. South Africa has a very rich flora with a large variety of endemic plant species, which are adapted to flourish in many different habitats. Therefore, South Africa is a paradise to anyone wishing to study the variety of indigenous plants, as well as their uses and way of living.
