Prof Johann Kirsten

Prof Kirsten has published 102 articles in peer reviewed journals as author and co-author and also co-edited 4 books. A total of 29 Master’s students and 15 PhD students completed their studies under his supervision. His main research interests relate the commercialization of farming in poor communities, land reform, and agricultural policy in general. Recently his research focus shifted to aspects related to price transmission and the role of market power in supply chains and the economics of food quality.
