Dr Fredrik Dalerum
Dr Dalerum is a Research Associate at the Centre for Wildlife
Management and the Mammal Research Institute. He has been with the University of Pretoria since August 2006 and is interested in predation strategies and predator-prey relationships in terrestrial ecosystems, in ecosystem function, and in conservation of large carnivores.
Professionally, he serves on the Advisory Board of the Institute of Breeding Rare and Endangered African Mammals. Over the years, Dr Dalerum, a native of Sweden, has received 15 grants for his studies. He has a PhD on ecology of wolverines in the Brooks Range and has a special interest in quantifying priorities for large carnivore conservation.
Dr Dalerum has 21 peer-reviewed publications and seven non-peer-reviewed publications to his name. He has presented 19 conference abstracts – in South Africa, Sweden, London, New Zealand, Finland, Brazil, California, and Denmark.
