Following the excitement of receiving their matric results, the new first-year students of 2011 made their way to the Hatfield Campus of the University of Pretoria on the morning of Saturday, 29 January, to attend the University’s official Welcoming Day. Close to 33 000 applications had been received from new undergraduate students this year and about 8 300 new first-year students registered.
