TuksDance Pride of the ClubBy Jacobus ErasmusPosted on 19 February 2012  SADTA Logo Some of our members compete on a regular basis in competitions in and around South Africa. This weekend it happened again and our students did very well. Stephanie and Anru competed in the 2012 AT HOME BALLROOM AND LATIN DANCE FESTIVAL this weekend . Both Stephanie and Anru competes in the Silver category in Ballroom and Latin. This week they walked away with a second place. This means they are so much closer to achieving their ultimate goal. In Ballroom and Latin competitive dancing dancers are sorted into the following categories: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Rising-Star, Championship. The Rising-Star and Championship levels is similar to Elite in other sports. For each competition you get points, depending on the size of the competitions and the placing you get. These points are then used to advance you through the levels. All dancers try to achieve the highest level they can. Stephanie and Anru is currently climming the ranks and we are hoping to see them in the Rising Star section next year. Congratulations and Good Luck. |
