Office of the Registrar

The Office of the Registrar is responsible for general institutional supervision with a view to, inter alia, ensure compliance with the provisions of the Higher Education Act, Act 101 of 1997 as amended.

As a member of the University Executive, the Registrar, Prof Niek Grové, is the line manager for the Department of Academic Administration, the Client Service Centre (CSC), the Legal Services Division, the Department of Security Services, the Department of Residence Affairs and Accommodation and the UP Archive. The Office of the Registrar also provides secretariat services related to the meetings of the University Executive as well as the University Council and the various statutory bodies and committees.

UP crosses borders with tourism - 13/06/2013

The Faculty of Humanities of the University of Pretoria was recently represented by two academic staff members at the Atlas Africa conference in Kigali, Rwanda. Mr Richard Wyllie (Department of Historical and Heritage Studies) and Professor Chris Boonzaaier (Department of Anthropology and Archaeology) both presented papers. For the first time in its history, the eighth bi-annual event was hosted by the Rwanda Tourism University College (RTUC) from 3 to 5 June 2013.
