By Jordan Griffiths

Posted on 12 June 2012

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS for students on the Hatfield and Groenkloof Campuses regarding the extension of library hours.

Note that from Wednesday, 6 June the Merensky Library will remain open for longer hours:
· Monday to Friday until 00:00
· Saturday  until 18:00

From Wednesday, 6 June, venues will be made available in the Humanities Building (not the Thuto Building) as additional study centres. These will be open Monday to Friday, from 18:00 to 06:00.
The venues will be as follows:
· HSB Room 3-14
· HSB Room 3-15
· HSB Room 3-23
· HSB Room 3-24

Also note that new bus times to Groenkloof Campus have also been introduced at 23:00 and 24:00 as departure times. This arrangement will be maintained on a trial basis for 5 days and will be stopped if used insufficiently.

Groenkloof Campus

The following rooms have been booked in the Sports Centre on the Groenkloof Campus from 4 June - 25 June 2012 for use by students to study:
· Room L28 (100 tables and chairs)
· Room L27 (65 tables and chairs)

Please spread the word.

This will also be a test to determine the need, if any, for permanent study facilities on other campuses, and also whether the library and computer lab hours on the Hatfield  and other campuses need to be extended and whether the Merensky Library needs to be kept open without a break (24 hours) during weekdays and Saturdays  during the run-up to the November examinations. Please encourage students to keep the venues clean and quiet.

Good luck with your exams!
