It is envisaged that approximately one third of the camp will be occupied by participants of the conference - this will add to an academic but relaxed conference atmosphere.
The following events and activities are included in the conference registration fee for participants and accompanying people who have paid:
Sunday 21 August, 19h00 - "Evening under the Stars" - Cocktail Event On the first evening of arrival the organising committee will host a cocktail party.
Tuesday 23 August, 19h00 - "Boma braai"
Thursday 25 August, 17h30 - "Feast amongst the Beasts" - Bush Braai
For a taste of the real bush, a traditional braai will be arranged and served in the wild under African stars. This is a combination of Game Viewing with a professional Game Guide and ultimately having a braai served by well trained caterers. Departure from Reception at 17h30.

Game Drives
Game Drives are available for resident guests of the Rest Camp. A professional Game Guide is on hand to take guests on tour in the untamed bush of the Kruger National Park. An option of the larger 20 seater or more exclusive 10 seater can be reserved. Bookings can be made in advance through the Central Reservations. Berg-en-Dal has 1 x 20 seater and 2 x 10 seaters available. Additional vehicles must be sub contracted on a ad hoc basis. Tariffs quoted are per person per drive based on the 2011 rates (tariffs may change without prior notification, for final tariffs contact the Kruger National Park):

Sunrise drives
Leave at around 04h30 in summer and 05h30 in winter. The drive’s duration is 3-4 hours. Inquire at the reservations offices about going on this drive.
Sunset drives
This activity leaves before the sun sets and gets back once the sky is dark. Inquire at the reservations offices about going on this drive.
Night drives
Take part in the nocturnal activities of Kruger's secretive creatures. Inquire at the reservations offices about going on this drive.
All-day-drive
An additional offering is an all-day-drive where, on request and availability, guests may hire the use of a vehicle and driver for the entire day, subject to availability. Trained officials take visitors to sections of the park which are usually inaccessible to tourists.
Additional game drives can be undertaken using personal vehicles.
Day Walks
Under the watchful eyes of two well trained and armed Field Guides 8 trailists are taken into the bush for a 3 to 4 hour interpretive excursion. Topics such as Animal behavior, Geology, Botany, Birds, Weather and Insects are explained. Remember to bring along your binoculars, comfortable walking shoes, camera and sun hat.
It is advisable to wear natural or neutral colored clothing and only persons above 12 years old may engage in this wonderful wildlife experience. Breakfast Walk includes snack breakfast R340 per person Afternoon Walk (only water supplied) R190 per person.
