This ensures that your UP qualification remains sought after.
Activities at the University of Pretoria officially started with the academic opening on 15 February. The Albert Luthuli Centre for Responsible Leadership welcomed its first intake of students for the Postgraduate Diploma in Integrated Reporting. Another achievement for UP is the selection of the Mae Jemison US Science Reading Room on the Mamelodi Campus as one of seven model American spaces out of a possible 800 worldwide.
The TuksAlumni Office has been involved in a number of events this year already. The rugby season kicked off with the Varsity Cup and well-attended alumni functions were held at both the games that were played at LC de Villiers. The Pretoria East TuksAlumni branch had a meeting with Prof Ronny Webber-Youngman as guest speaker, and economist Dawie Roodt addressed guests at the first business breakfast of the year. Furthermore, TuksClub 60+ held its annual general meeting, and the Golf Club celebrated its 50th anniversary.
AlumNews is a regular column in the TuksAlumni Newsletter in which you can read about the latest achievements of fellow alumni as reported in the media. In this edition, there is news about Prof Fritz Eloff, who published his latest book at the age of 93, and Johann Odendaal’s epic walk from Pretoria to Cape Town.
