A New Director welcomed

Dr Carol Nonkwelo has joined the Department of Research and         Innovation Support at the University of Pretoria on 2 July 2012 as its new director.

Dr Nonkwelo joins the Department from the National Research Foundation (NRF) where she was Programme Director of SA PhD Project. She worked at the National Research Foundation for just over four and a half years.

Dr Nonkwelo received a MS in Medical Microbiology from Long  Island University in 1986. She completed her PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from Temple University in 1993 before going on to receive a MBA in 2003 at the University of Cape Town.

On behalf of the Department of Research and Innovation Support we would like to extend a warm welcome to Dr Nonkwelo. We look forward to beginning a new era with her at the helm and we are confident that the Department will only go stronger with her appointment.
