New shops at Groenkloof Campus officially opened

Prof Irma Eloff, Dean of the Faculty of Education and Prof Cycil Hartell, Head of the Department of Early Childhood Education enjoy the new shops, the new spaces and the new created opportunities.
The Faculty of Education celebrated another special opening event with the launch of the three new shops. Haloa, Wannabee and Bookmark bookshops were officially opened by Prof Cheryl de la Rey, Vice Chancellor and Principal on Monday, 10 October 2011.
Mr Deon Herbst, Director of Business Enterprise at UP (BE@UP) marked the event as a highlight not only for Groenkloof Campus but also for the BE@UP. He said that it was the result of a lot of research and many surveys, to establish what will be ideal for the staff and students at Groenkloof Campus.
Prof Irma Eloff, Dean of the Faculty of Education said: 'We need spaces such as this to signal that our staff and students are important. We need spaces such as this to show that we value quality and holistic learning experiences on the Groenkloof Campus'.
Guests had the opportunity to enjoy some of the lovely dishes of Haloa Coffee Shop while they viewed the books of Bookmark as well as the variety of items sold in the Wannabee Shop.
Since the door of the shops opened for service, students and staff have shown their appreciation for the quality of service and the items available on their doorstep.
