Power outages are synonymous with inconvenience. Even though, at UP, backup power generators supply backup power in most buildings when a building’s power cuts out, such an outage is always accompanied by an initial short power interruption. Furthermore, power interruptions can be caused by a switch board cutting out, in which case only a few offices may be impacted. In both these scenarios users of desktop computers must be aware of the associated risk of data loss or computer damage.

The Council of the University has approved funding to supplement the shortfall on the transfer value of current UP employees and pensioners who have already retired from the service of UP, who elected to transfer their pension interests to the University's Provident Fund from the Associated Institutions Pension Fund (AIPF) and the Temporary Employees Pension Fund (TEPF) during 1995.
