June/July long contact session

Posted on 22 June 2012
The June/July long contact session is one of the four support sessions for distance education students organised by the University of Pretoria’s Unit for Distance Education each year.
The purpose of the four-and-a-half day session is multi-dimensional. It will briefly outline the structure of the modules and their context in the programme; assist students to achieve the outcomes of the modules offered; provide guidelines regarding formative and summative assessments, the completion of assignments and preparation for examinations; and explain the important and possibly problematic aspects of each module.
The session will take place from 26 June to 6 July 2012 (a double session organised to accommodate all students) at 16 venues. About 8 200 students are expected to be in attendance.
