UP Arts present: KUESTA University Choirs Prestige Concert

The most anticipated choral event on the Pretoria calendar will take place on Sunday, 2 October 2011 at 18:00.
The “Big 5” South African university choirs will perform at this prestigious Kuesta gala concert. The participating choirs are the University of Pretoria Camerata, the University of Stellenbosch Choir, the University of Johannesburg Choir, the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University Choir and the North-West University Choir (PUKkoor).
The concert will take place in the Musaion, on UP’s Hatfield Campus. Tickets are available at Computicket at R100 for adults and R80 for pensioners, students and scholars. See www.computicket.com. Tickets are limited, so do not delay.
The choirs’ repertoires will include sacred, secular and folk music in different styles, and will mainly be performed a cappella. The highlight of the evening will be a mass choir performance by the 320 choristers. All the choirs and their conductors have received wide acclaim on international stages and have received numerous national and international accolades through the years.
The Kuesta University Choral Festival has been held in rotation at the participating universities’ campuses for more than 30 years. The Festival will comprise of simultaneous choral workshops and choir rehearsals that culminate in a gala choir concert with the impressive mass choir finale.
