51st White & Case Jessup Moot Court Competition 2010, Washington D.C., March 2010
As winner of the February 2010 South African National Round the TuksLaw team qualified to participate in the 51st Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, hosted in Washington D.C. during March 2010. The competition featured 105 teams from over 80 countries.
After four preliminary rounds the TuksLaw team was eliminated by the narrowest of margins. However, in the overall standings the team was placed in the top 50 (44th place) and was the highest ranked African team. Both Katherine Harding (38th place) and Ian Learmonth (49th place) were placed in the Top 50 oralists out of approximately 400 oralists in total).
The team would like to thank coach Lourens Grové, as well as the Faculty of the Law at the University of Pretoria for their support, as well as the ILSA and White & Case staff involved in running this Competition.
