The 5th Forest Science Symposium, organised by ICFR and co-hosted by the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries will be held at Hilton College in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, on 24 and 25 July 2012.
The theme of the symposium is “Risk to sustainable plantation forestry in southern Africa: The Response of Research”. The symposium will also be celebrating 65 years of ICFR’s existence in spearheading forest research. More importantly, forest research clocks 100 years this year! Postgraduate students and academics in forestry and related fields are encouraged to embrace this auspicious occasion by making presentations of their research work.
Closing date for submission of abstracts for consideration by ICFR Scientific Committee is Monday, 30 April, 2012. Postgraduate Forest Science students may seek guidance from their mentors to share their research studies. For further details about the symposium, click here.
