TuksSport athletes taking part in the Commonwealth Games

The 2014 Commonwealth Games (officially the XX Commonwealth Games) are held in Glasgow, Scotland from 23 July to 3 August 2014. It is the third largest multi-sport event after the Olympics and the Asian Games, and it will be the largest multi-sport event ever held in Scotland. Around 4 560 athletes will be competing in 17 different sports.

Besides our regular medal hopefuls in the pool, Roland Schoeman and Cameron van der Burgh, TuksSport have another swimming sensation, Karin Prinsloo. Karin is a registered Tuks swimming club member who has had some great form this year. In Glasgow she is hoping to add to her sterling performances in the recent Mare Nostrum event held across Europe in June. Here she won gold in the 200m Freestyle in the Monaco leg, and in the Barceloa leg Prinsloo added the women's 400m freestyle bronze medal and silver in the 200m freestyle.

With much excitement the announcement of the 2014 Team South African Commonwealth Games took place yesterday. Once again TuksSport and the various Tuks programmes are proud of our athletes and coaches whom have been selected to represent our country at the Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
