Mamelodi Campus' after-school Sports Program

Posted on 13 July 2011

As part of the 2010 World Cup Legacy projects at the University of Pretoria, TuksSport together with Foundation Real Madrid provide an after-school football program at the Mamelodi Campus.

The after-school football program includes providing academic tutoring and life skills training to the learners from nearby community primary schools. The initiative is meant for both girls and boys from ten (10) to twelve (12) years of age coming from the surrounding community and for those who need support.

University of Pretoria football coaches train the participants using a program developed and sponsored by Foundation Real Madrid. Since the project started in 2011, the participants have shown tremendous development within themselves, individually and as a group.

From 28-30 June, the Foundation Real Madrid hosted their annual training program at the University of Pretoria’s High Performance Center on the Hatfield Campus where educators were equipped with knowledge and materials on training young kids and improving their skills.
