The University of Pretoria recently dusted off a retired Mirage F1, the aircraft is currently undergoing restoration work. This mirage will be placed on a stand outside the Sci-Enza building.
The three Mirage F1's were given to the universities of Wits, TUKS and Stellenbosch some years ago. The TUKS Mirage was assembled soon after, but then because of space issues and lack of interest and support, the aircraft was later disassembled again. This was done with special tooling made by AEROSUD.
The aircraft is complete except for the engine and was reassembled in 2009.
