Prof Willem Schurink, Sumari O'Neil, Evanthe Schurink, Dawie Roux and Rolf Schurink
A unique interactive e-learning site for qualitative research has been developed and will be facilitated by two seasoned researchers, Prof Schurink and Evanthe Schurink who have been involved in qualitative research for more than 30 years. To date, Prof Schurink has supervised 35 PhD students. Our interest and expertise lie in developing qualitative research methodology. The main aim of the site is to help students to conduct qualitative research of a high standard, by providing them with the knowledge and skills needed, as well as a supportive and stimulating environment where emerging approaches, current debates and new developments in qualitative research will be addressed.
We are therefore inviting you to visit our e-learning site, no matter if you have excellent knowledge of qualitative research or not. Our passion in life is to help students and researchers to develop a real understanding and love of qualitative research. Our 30+ years’ journey as qualitative researchers into the experiential worlds of people has changed our lives and altered our life courses in many ways. To have had the opportunity to get immersed in the lives of people through qualitative research was an enriching experience. We therefore hope that being part of this group you will have the same wonderful experiences in doing qualitative research.
It is our sincere wish that belonging to this group would help you to foster an understanding of issues involved in the qualitative research, and develop the critical and reflective skills needed to write a dissertation. We would also like to encourage you to communicate your ideas, reflect on what you have learned and invite and assist other students to share this exciting journey with you.
