TuksSport Colours and Awards

The TuksSport Colours and Awards function for 2012 took place on the 19^th of October 2012. The numerous high levels of success this year made the competition for the awards very stiff.

The award winners were as follows:

Student Administrator of the Year – Coreen Walstra (Rowing)

Administrator of the Year – Wim Dreyer (Fencing)

Student Sportswomen of the Year – Lee-Anne Persse (Rowing)

Student Sportsman of the Year – Willie De Beer (Athletics)

Coach of the Year Team Sports – Steve Barker (Football)

Coach of the Year Individual Sports – Roger Barrow (Rowing)

Sports Team of the Year – AmaTuks

Student Sport Club of the Year – TuksRowing

Sport Club of the Year – shared between TuksNetball and TuksCricket

Newsmaker of the Year – Caster Semenya (Athletics)

Principal’s Award to a Student for Exceptional Performance in both Academics and Sport – Willie De Beer (Athletics)

Principal’s Award for Outstanding Performance by a Team Representing the University – Rugby UP-Tuks1

Sport Personality Award – Oscar Pistorius (Athletics)

Sportswoman on the Year – Bridgitte Hartley (Canoe)

Sportsman of the Year – James Thompson, Matthew Brittain, John Smith and Sizwe Ndlovu
