Doctoral degrees

Two doctoral programmes are offered:

• The PhD degree is completed by means of independent research and a full thesis. Admission is via a Masters programme (including students who have completed the MPhil and subsequently the MA Theology degree), though some internationally awarded Masters qualifications will be subject to evaluation. The PhD is offered in all of the usual disciplines of Theology.

• The DD programme is a doctorate which provides excellent preparation for an academic and/or a research career. It includes extensive doctoral examinations on two minors and a major, the latter pertaining to the field within which the candidate wishes to write the thesis. The DD is offered in all the mainstream disciplines of Theology.
  
  All doctorates conclude with the usual public defense of the dissertation by the candidate.
