Administrative levy

As from 1 January 2005 international students have to pay an annual administrative levy is payable at or before registration.

The levy is revised annually and is presently set at SA Rand 2 000 (ZAR).

 Tuition fees – undergraduate students

International students will be levied tuition fees double that of South African citizens if

• they commence their study at the University of Pretoria for a particular undergraduate course of study after 1 January 2005; and
• are citizens of countries other than the SADC countries.

Tuition fees – postgraduate students

International students will be levied tuition fees double that of South African citizens if

• they commence their study at the University of Pretoria for a particular postgraduate course of study after 1 January 2005;
• are citizens of countries other than the SADC countries ; and
• their course of study is not for a research Master’s or Doctoral degree.

The above is applicable irrespective of the University campus at which the student is registered.

Please note : Students who have Permanent Residence status in SADC countries, but who have citizenship in a non-SADC country, will be levied double tuition fees as stated in 2 and 3 above.
