Strike excells in St. Petersburg

Posted on 13 November 2009

Tuks' Strike Nkuna beat his highly rated African counterparts from Algeria in the qualification round of the 26th Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships which started in St. Petersburg, on 11 November.

He finished 60th amongst a very strong international field of 82.

Strike has greatly improved his form considering the Algerians normally have the upper hand in Trampoline Gymnastics in Africa.

Strike, also known as “Mr Nice Guy” started competing internationally in 2001. This is however his first time as a senior on the circuit. Strike is a student at the University of Pretoria and trains at TuksSport.

Strike continues competing today in the qualification round of the Men’s Double Mini Trampoline Qualification together with current World Number 8 Tumbling athlete, Bianca Budler who competes in the Women’s Double Mini Trampoline Qualification Round.

In Tumbling, Bianca and Karen Wilson compete in the Women’s Tumbling qualification round.

World Games number 8 Lebogang Ramokopelwa and athlete Nko Motlalefi will also represent South Africa in the Men’s Tumbling qualification round.
