The 2009/2010 AmaTuks squad.
The University of Pretoria F.C. has returned from a month long holiday in preparations of the up coming season, 2010/2011 which is likely to start beginning of September.
With Steve Barker still heading AmaTuks he has couple of plans to be absorbed by players before they kick start the detailed programme facing them.
“We are currently working on returning the focus and fitness of players before we can start anything technical,” said Steve.
Although AmaTuks have to face the often freezing Pretoria weather during training they look determined and enthusiastic about the new season. It’s in everyone’s mind to achieve better than last season.
AmaTuks’ veteran goalkeeper, Siya Mngoma has agreed that if they can work on coordination and better understanding, most teams will not be able to catch up with the speed and talent available to the team.
“The holidays are over and we have started working on our mindset to find a common goal within ourselves and that is to be on top of the log when season ends,” said Siya.
“It’s really impressive that they commit themselves to a hard working season in order to enjoy the results,” emphasized Steve.
TAmaTuks have two weeks in their preseason training left and done with their new talent search.
“We are done with beefing up of the squad. We are committed to the 25 man squad we have now,” commented Team Manager, Graham Oosthuis.
