Tuesday, 15th September is D-day for the Tuks USSA Women’s football team.

Tuks will be facing their archrival, University of Johannesburg (UJ) in the USSA Gauteng Football League (UGFL) finals.

UJ are the defending Gauteng champions and Tuks are thus more determined to take their rival by the horns when they meet at the UJ Sports Grounds later on Tuesday.

“It’s going to be tight, but I want to ensure everyone that all 70 minutes of the game will be worthy of a final” said head coach Sello Mokoena.

“We meet UJ today (Tuesday) and we will meet again in December. Today’s however all about the 70 minutes that wil make or break the champions,” added Sello.

The mood in the Tuks camp is very positive as most players know the importance of playing and winning against UJ.

On Tuks’ penalty shoot-out win against Vaal University of Technology (VUT) on 8 September, Sello said it was tough going.

“We played them two weeks before when they won 3-1. In the rematch we had a different approach as we had to win, even if had to be through penalties,” said Sello.

TuksFootball Manager Kenneth Neluvhalani expressed confidence in the women’s team ability to win the final with a display of classic football.
