After the University of Pretoria F. C. was booted out of the lucrative Nedbank Cup all and sundry knew that they were facing the end of action for 2009/10.
AmaTuks traveled to Pietermaritzburg in Kwazulu Natal recently to face Amazulu F.C in their Nedbank Cup quarterfinal clash.
“We were against the ropes after their early goal,” said head coach, Steve Barker.
“The team did however display a fighting spirit the entire game and we were just unfortunate not to convert chances that we had,” said Steve.
The hosts increased their lead to 2-0 20 minutes after scoring their first..
The handful of AmaTuks supporters couldn’t believe the result, but had to accept the results.
“We are disappointed but the score board can’t be changed,” said supporter Isaac Roets.
With two weeks out of action AmaTuks’ head coach will be pulling out the drawing board to start focusing on the coming season as they’ve had trials in the past weekend.
“ We had trials over the weekend and I can assure that next season we are going to tougher than this year,” confirmed Team Manager, Graham Oosthuis.
