UP Arts hosts UPYC Annual High School Choirs Festival

A High School Choirs Festival will be held on Saturday 13 March 2010, where choirs from around the Greater Pretoria will be performing.
The choirs performing at this annual festival include St. Mary’s DSG Choir conducted by Christo Burger, Pretoria High School for Boys and Pretoria High School for Girls both conducted by Michael Barret, St. Albans Boys College Choir conducted by Ralf Schmidt, Hoërskool Overkruin Choir conducted by Attie Rossouw, as well as the Pretoria based UP Youth Choir, conducted by Lhente-Mari Pitout.
The University of Pretoria Youth Choir, conducted by Lhente-Mari Pitout, forms part of the multi-choir model of the university and consists of 64 members between the ages of 14 and 19, representing 17 schools in the Tshwane area. The choir aims to contribute towards the aesthetic music education and interest in music within its members as well as developing their sense of co-operation and existing harmoniously in a multicultural environment.
The concert will take place on Saturday 13 March 2010, 19:00 in the Musaion Auditorium at the University of Pretoria.
